Cindy has waited a long time for Jeremiah to share the secrets of his past with her and she’s not going to let the murder of a young woman at a political rally at the church keep her from finding out exactly what the rabbi has been hiding. Just when she’s beginning to get answers, though, an emergency phone call sends her off to Las Vegas to the bedside of her injured brother and leaves Jeremiah to solve the mystery himself. Before she knows what’s hit her Cindy finds herself at the center of a much more personal investigation and the target of an unseen stalker who wants to know everything he can about her.

One of Debbie Viguie's characters refer to the architecture of Las Vegas as being mindboggling. I would like to suggest that actually, what Viguie has done with her characters and the development of Cindy and Jeremiah's relationship is mindboggling. After so many books, you would think the whole premise of the books would be old. No! You feel like you're on a wild journey on the back roads in southern Ohio or northern Kentucky. The car of your mind is whizzing along fast in one direction, when, you round the curve and there's a steep cliff on one side and a drop off on the other. So many circumstances for Cindy, Jeremiah, Mark, Tracy, Kyle, and a few others to get into and to need to escape. Just when you think you see the way out, Viguie' deftly steers the story wheel the opposite direction, leaving you reeling and hitting the reading accelerator to learn more as quickly as possible. We learn a secret or two, FINALLY! The next book cannot come soon enough!Product details

Walk Through the Valley Psalm 23 Mysteries Book 8 edition by Debbie Viguié Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
And the fun continues. Even though they all were in different places and solving some different mysteries it was still exciting. And I loved how Cindy's dad is now involved. I can't wait for the next book. And the tension grows!
I am thoroughly enjoying this whole series! I like the way the characters are developing as the story line continues and I feel they are all very personable and identifiable. I also like the fact that the religion/s portrayed are well written, There is understanding of both Judaism and Christianity here that helps to make it clear what the similarities are as well as the differences. If there is anything negative for me about this series it's that the books are not coming fast enough. A very good read.
This entire series written by Debbie Viguie is wonderful. The mysteries are complex and take numerous turns, the relationships grow slowly over time, and the "truth" of people's lives comes out slowly and helps them figure out how they fit into their own and each other's lives. I can't wait for the next book to come out so I can find out what happens between Cindy and Jeremiah. I have "hooked" several friends on the series and they are anxious for the next level of closure as well. Many thanks to Debbie Viguie!
I'm so glad this series is continuing. I've gotten so caught up in Cindy and Jeremiah's story, it's hard to finish the last page knowing you have to wait for the next book.
Learning how afraid Cindy was of putting herself in a new situation, then seeing how much she has grown as a strong woman, the way she's challenging herself since meeting Jeremiah, has been a great journey.
Luckily for me, Debbie has been busy writing. I just found the next chapter in their lives, so I don't have to wait.
If you haven't read these books, start by reading the first one. Jeremiah is a Rabbi and Cindy is a woman of faith. The books aren't preachy, just good reading without rubbing your face in it.
I was thrilled to see this book come out (especially after the bombshell at the end of the last book!) and snatched it up to read just as quickly as I could. I read it in just a couple of days, too. I LOVE this series--one of my very favorite cozy series of all time! It has plenty of action and romance and intriguing situations, along with really unusual and interesting faith elements along with way. I love Cindy and Jeremiah together and am really anxious to see what happens with them.
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because Cindy and Jeremiah were apart for so much of the book. I know that Cindy didn't want to have to deal with her parents probing into their relationship while her brother was in the hospital and they had separate mysteries to solve, but I just love the books where they're together and working to solve the mystery together so much more. Their interaction is a huge draw for me and I love to see Jeremiah so worried and protective of her, which we did get some of in this book, even when they were apart--that made me happy. I actually peeked ahead to see when Jeremiah would show up where Cindy was staying (you know it had to happen sooner or later, LOL) and impatiently read till I got to that point. Once they were reunited, the book really took off for me and that wonderful spark was still there. It was cool finally learning more about Jeremiah's past, too. I also liked the stuff with Mark and Tracy, but again, my favorites are the ones where the gang's all together. I like their interactions and seeing their friendships and how the relationships they've built carry them through the difficult times.
Impatiently waiting for the next book--thank goodness this author publishes them frequently! I don't think I could stand the wait, otherwise. LOL
Once again Cindy stumbles onto a murder at her church. Before she can become involved in solving the crime though she is off to Las Vegas to be by the side of her brother who is in a coma after an accident.
Jeremiah is left behind though to help solve the mystery. Jeremiah telling Cindy a part of his past didn't go over too well before Cindy left. Jeremiah has tried to leave before his past catches up with him, but Cindy has a hold of his heart and he is reluctant to put their relationship behind. Besides, who would protect Cindy if he isn't around?
Mark and Traci are on vacation and Mark is determined to relax and put all thoughts of murder behind him for two weeks. Unfortunately murder has a way of following Mark, Cindy and Jeremiah even when they aren't in the same place at the same time!
There seemed to be a lot going on in this installment of the Psalm 23 Mysteries. I think I would have preferred all of the main characters to be together rather than working apart. Eventually Jeremiah and Cindy do end up working on the same mystery together, so that was good. As far as the 3 separate mysteries go, I thought they were all good and maybe could have been developed into their own stories. I'm still a fan of the series and am once again looking forward to the next installment where I hope all of the friends will once again be together. Oh, and Jeremiah and Cindy's relationship heated up a bit in this one! Can't wait to see where that goes.
